v Ancient Uses: It was used in assistance in meditation, embalming and aphrodisiac.

v Modern Uses: Sandalwood contains the 4^th highest concentrations of sesquiterpenes of all the oils-(90%). The fragrant influence enhances deep sleep, and may help remove negative programming from the cells.  It is high in sesquiterpenes that stimulate the pineal gland and the limbic region of the brain, the center of emotions.  The pineal gland is responsible for releasing melatonin, a powerful immune stimulant and anti-tumoral agent.  Can be grounding and stabilizing.  Apply a little inside the nose before going to sleep, supportive of female reproductive and endocrine systems; urinary tract infections, Cancer, viral infection-Herpes of all kinds. The divinely sweet aroma, a softly balsamic base-note, evokes the Earth element at its most sensual yet deeply tranquil space.

Passion: don't let anything steal your joy

I wanted to share quickly. I know that you see this and it is a great info site, but I also want you to know me, and know that there are more levels and layers to me. I have to say that finding and getting involved in these oils has been such an amazing thing for me. I have really found a passion and love for natural ways to live. This has brought joy and a purpose to my life in a new way. I know that God led me to find these, and I know that HE is the one who put this passion in me.
The last few days, I have to admit, I have been down. I still have the passion, but I have been letting things (not getting into it right now) steal my joy. I have been really struggling to get my norm done, because I have been allowing things to take joy away. I am saying this because I recognize it in me, and I know that there is more that I am learning about health and wellness and living a natural life. I have this passion for this and I don't want anything to steal the joy and get me off track with what I know I need to be doing to get me to the place I know I need and want to get to.
I want to speak first to those who have been letting things, circumstances or people take their joy. You know what your passion is! You know what you need to do to get you to a place that God is bringing you. Don't let doubts from people, thoughts from others or whatever, invade your thoughts to get you off track. God gave you those passions and He gives us new passions that we never knew were in us. When you find your passion, don't let anything steal that joy! When you find something you love to do, KEEP DOING IT, no matter what anyone says. It is your life and you have a passion for a reason, and God knows what He is doing when He placed those things in you. Use those passions and run with them! I kept going through all the negative stuff and I know that I will get through and succeed because I am not going to give up on this passion. My passion is a natural life. My passion is finding new ways to have a toxic free home. My passion is to find wellness and health in the natural living!
Next, I want to speak to those who might doubt someone's passions. If you don't "agree" with someone about something they are passionate about,... well no nice way to put it... keep your doubts to yourself. Don't take someone's joy away when they have found some thing they love! I  have been searching and searching different areas of where I thought might lead to a passion or some kind of new purpose for me in the season I am in. Some have failed and I have given up on (yes, I admit that), but I kept going and kept looking! I have finally found something that excites me, that gives me joy and gives me PASSION and a will to DO! Don't take that from someone! Don't take what they have found and bring them down. Don't take away their joy because you don't want to do it for you. That is fine if you don't like it, but you don't have to judge their choices, and you don't have to make them feel horrible so that they feel like giving up. This is their life and if they are not hurting anyone then let them follow their passions. There is nothing wrong with them wanting to follow their passions and make a better life for their family. If you love them, and if you care, then let them follow what they are passionate about. For me it is a natural life for my family. I know many don't agree with all that I do, but I know that this is best for MY family. I do not ever say that anyone should do as I do, because it is your choice. If you choose to have a natural, non toxic life; DO IT. If you choose to follow more natural ways in health and medicine; DO IT.
All, in all, I want to say: FIND YOUR PASSION  and then MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!

Welcome April: New promo for the month!

We want to say welcome to spring and welcome to April. I am hoping and praying that April will bring Spring-like weather, and NO snow. I am ready for warmer weather. Myrrh (Commiphora myrrha)

v Ancient Uses: Pregnant mothers anointed themselves for protection against infectious diseases and to elevate feelings of well-being.  They also believed it would protect their unborn children from generational curses.  Diffused & inhaled during labor to reduce anxiety and facilitate calmness & massaged on perineum to facilitate stretching. Used after childbirth to prevent or remove abdominal stretch marks.  Customarily used on umbilical cords of newborn to protect the navel from infection, this symbolically was meant to cut off generational curses inherited from ancestors.  It may have been for all of these uses that Myrrh was brought to Mary and Baby Jesus. Used in ancient times for skin conditions, oral hygiene, embalming, and as an insect repellent.  Egyptians carried cones of fat on their heads containing Myrrh that would melt in the desert heat and keep their bodies bathed in Myrrh and other oils.  Myrrh has always been a popular fixing oil, from ancient times to the present, to prolong the life of the fragrances in other oils, hence, it was blended with so many perfumers and ointments in Biblical times that in the Gospels of the Greek word for myrrh “muron,” was sometimes translated as “ointment” without revealing that its content included myrrh.  Myrrh is still used as a fixative to extend the fragrances of other scents now days.

v Modern Uses: Antiseptic, Antibacterial, antifungal, anti-parasitic, gastrointestinal regulator, balancing to the thyroid, endocrine system and supports immune system.  Bronchitis, diarrhea, thrush in babies, vaginal thrush, athlete’s foot, ringworm, viral hepatitis, chapped skin, wrinkles & emotionally releasing.

First oil of the Bible. Frankincense

So I have been a bit MIA. I am sorry, but I am back. I went away to TX for a weekend, and then been getting back into the groove here at home again. I am back and I decided to start with a great oil of the Bible in which I am pretty sure many if not all have heard of. I love this oil and use it for many things. Here is some info on this oil. v Ancient Uses: Frankincense is considered the “Holy anointing oil”, in the Middle East and has been used in religious ceremonies for thousands of years.  It was well known during the time of Christ for its anointing and healing powers and was one of the gifts given to Christ at His birth.  “Used to treat every conceivable ill known to man”, Frankincense was valued more than gold during ancient times, and only those with great wealth and abundance possessed it.  It is mentioned in one of the oldest known medical records, Ebers Papyrus (dating from 16^th century B.C.), an ancient Egyptian list of 877 prescriptions and recipes.  It was used for various medicines, spiritually uplifting yet grounding, pain relief, spasms and cramps diuretic.

v Modern Use: Monoterpene reprograms cellular memory. Depression, cancer, allergies, headaches, bronchitis, herpes, tonsillitis, typhoid, warts, immune balancer, respiratory infections, inflammation, immune-stimulating, muscle relaxing, increases spiritual awareness, promotes meditation, improves attitude, and uplifts the spirit.  Frankincense contains sesquiterpenes, which stimulate the limbic system of the brain (the center of memory and emotions) and the hypothalamus, pineal, and pituitary glands.  The hypothalamus is the master gland of the human body, producing many vital hormones including thyroid and growth hormone.   It has been used in European and American hospitals and is the subject of substantial research. Frankincense is also a valuable ingredient in skin care products for aging and dry skin. The ancient Egyptians used it in rejuvenation face masks.

·         From Dr. Suhail, M.D. at the 2010 YL Convention Cancer, arthritis and periodontal disease are also relatively unknown in Oman and Yemen because the population has access to luban (frankincense resin), which is chewed like gum. They also soak 4 or 5 pieces of this resin in water overnight and drink the water. Dr. Suhail, M.D. said that they don’t even have a cancer ward in the hospital that he visits in Oman because so few people over there have cancer. He only knows of 4 cancer cases, all 4 cases being non-local people!

·         Dr. Lin told us of a gentlemen that had cancer and his success story of Adenocarcinoma of the colon. This gentlemen had primary lesion in colon, which had metastasized (antigen was 210 IU mL) (healthy is around 5) antigen went down to 18 with treatment of frankincense in 16 days!!! Metastasis reduced in 21 days, and in another 3-4 weeks it was basically gone.

Oils and the Bible

I love my oils and I am particularly interested in the ones that are found in the Bible. I love the word, and love that there are things that were used then that we can get our hands on now! I am loving the study that I am doing on the different oils that were used in the Bible that we can read about in the different areas and how they used them, but also knowing that we still can use them today is an added bonus. So I want to go through a few oils and their biblical background and share how you can still use them today. Now I also want you to know that I am going to be doing this class for churches or other groups that want to learn more about this topic. I will bring oils that are mentioned in the Bible as well, so that you can smell them, and really get a picture and taste of what these are all about. They all had a place and purpose and it is so fun exploring that! But then also going through how we can still use them today! So I am going to be starting this on my blog because it is one area that interests me with these oils! So i want to open it up to anyone who might have questions. Do you want to know about a specific oil that is mentioned in the bible? If so which one, and why? What questions do you have about them. I will be more than willing to go through any specific oils that you want info on! Again if you want a class on this message me and let me know and I will be happy to plan out a special bible study class on these oils where we explore the scriptures and find how and when they were used! So I want to open this up to question and to what oils you specifically wanted to know about. And tomorrow I will start with one.

Toxic Free Friday!

So I like to do Toxic free Fridays! Today on my blog I want to hit on Young Living oils and your pets! I have 3 dogs and I know that I want to make their products toxic free for them as well. So I decided to find a few pics to help with this. For one I want to save for when I do need it for my pets, and for another I want to share that going toxic free isn't just for the humans but also for the pets too. Oils are for the whole family, including the pets. I know I wouldn't want my 2 year old picking up a med for the dogs and eat it. I know they are toxic and would be HORRIBLE for my kid. So I want to make the doggy products toxic free because I know that anything my kids pick up will be in their mouths. Plus we like toxic free animals too. So here are a few pics that I want to share, because they make it so easy to see and save for later! So today is toxic free Friday for the pets in your life! I used my oils on my puppies today and it really helped! So here are some oils and their uses on the pets! Enjoy!

Welcome!

Welcome to my site. I decided to start a blog for this because it is something I am very excited about and something that I want to share with everyone. My house hold is on a mission to get the toxic products out of our home and get all natural products in!! We have a few ways of doing this. We are part of a few all natural companies which we both are really excited about. My husband found one that is all natural non toxic products and I have found the Young Living oils. Both are great and are helping our family get non-toxic! I am going to for the most part focus on the oils because that is definitely my passion and something I am loving. I use the oils for everything. My main reason for getting in this though, was for the medicinal and therapeutic reasons. I love that I can replace my medicine cabinet with something that is all natural and not toxic and something that I can ingest and know that it wont hurt me or my family! I have been using them in so many ways and I am so excited to share that with you all. We use my husbands products for the house and I have been using the oils for our health and medicine. They are great and work! I will be posting here and there great info on how to use them, what different oils are used for, and (some of my favorite) what you can make and use in the house and how to make them.
